Arizona Credit Repair & Debt Defense

Arizona follows the federal FCRA and FDCPA for credit disputes and debt validation, and its own Consumer Fraud Act backs you against deceptive collection — with a six-year clock on most written-contract debt.

Your rights: Federal FCRA (15 U.S.C. §1681) + FDCPA (15 U.S.C. §1692), plus the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act (A.R.S. §44-1521) and state credit-reporting rules.

How to dispute: Dispute each inaccurate item in writing with all three bureaus (FCRA §611) and the furnisher (§623); the bureau must reinvestigate — usually within 30 days — and delete what it can't verify.

Statute of limitations: Arizona allows 6 years to sue on most written-contract / credit-card debt (A.R.S. §12-548) — confirm the clock before you pay or promise, because a payment can restart it.

Lead move: Send §609/§611 disputes and a §1692g validation demand to any collector; escalate unresolved errors to the CFPB.
