Enter the sentence length, FSA and RDAP eligibility, and PATTERN score in the calculator above to see an estimated Conditional Placement Date (CPD). Good Conduct Time is 54 days per year of the sentence imposed (18 U.S.C. § 3624(b)). RDAP early release, where eligible, is up to 12 months. First Step Act earned-time credit accrues at 10 days per 30 days served for the first 180 days, then 15 days per 30 days served at a Minimum or Low PATTERN score, capped at 365 days toward an earlier release date.
Good Conduct Time (GCT)
Under 18 U.S.C. § 3624(b), federal inmates can earn up to 54 days per year of the sentence imposed for good behavior, applied against the full-term release date.
RDAP (Residential Drug Abuse Program)
Completing RDAP can earn eligible inmates up to 12 months (365 days) off their sentence — a case-by-case BOP eligibility decision.
First Step Act (FSA) earned-time credits
Eligible inmates earn Time Credits for programming and productive activities: 10 days per 30 days served for the first 180 days, then 15 days per 30 days served once assessed Minimum or Low PATTERN risk across two consecutive assessments. Up to 365 days can apply toward an earlier release date; credit beyond that can go toward earlier community placement (RRC / home confinement) instead. A Medium or High PATTERN score keeps earning credit but generally can't apply it until reclassified.
